Mr. Gomes works within the Trade Branch of Global Affairs Canada and is focused on promoting multilateralism and international trade.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Gomes represented Canada in Free Trade negotiations with Israel, India and European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland). Most recently, he served as Canada’s Senior Trade Commissioner to South India based in Bangalore - India’s IT and innovation hub.
Mr. Gomes holds an MBA in International Trade from the Telfer School of Management in Ottawa, and specializes in Management Consulting and International Trade. He has spent 15 years in the private sector working within the Oil and Gas and Technology industries, while the past 15 years have been with the Public Service of Canada - focused on International Affairs, Trade and Development.
Tel Aviv is Mr. Gomes’s 12th international assignment.
